Everyone in life has their own rights and wrongs. But hold on, is what we call “right” truly right? Or is what we deem “wrong” universally wrong? Right and wrong vary from person to person. Since we all experience, see, and learn different things, these concepts are relative. So, how should one act when choosing their own truths?
Every individual forms their rights and wrongs through their own mental filter. But are these truths truly ours? Or are they ideas shaped by the influence of others? How much of our truths, which align with society’s general acceptance, actually belong to us? For example, it was once believed that “The Earth is the center of the universe.” This was the greatest “truth” of its time. But what happened? Time passed, science advanced, and that truth became false. New truths replaced it.
Even this example shows us one thing: in life, there is no absolute right or absolute wrong. Everything changes. And it can change in an instant. At any given moment, we act according to what we believe is right. What seems right in that moment might later appear wrong. But no matter what we do, we cannot go back and change the past.
Why do truths and wrongs change? Because everything interacts with everything else. Just like a stationary marble moves when hit by another marble, everything is influenced by something else and changes. This is why there is no such thing as certainty. Clinging to absolute right or absolute wrong ignores the ever-changing nature of life.
Think about it: are you the same as your 7-year-old self? Your thoughts, dreams, and even physical appearance have changed since then. And this transformation is a natural part of life. Survival without change, adaptation, or evolution is impossible. Dinosaurs couldn’t achieve this, which is why they went extinct. If we want to survive, we must remain open to change and learn to adapt.
So, in the midst of all this change, why do we still make plans? If everything in life is influenced by something else, how realistic can these plans be? Of course, planning is a habit imposed on us by the modern world. But these plans often fall apart. Then, we feel disappointed and think, “I wish it hadn’t been this way.” However, in a world where change is inevitable, we should learn to go with the flow rather than live by strict plans.
Remember the classic question from your childhood: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Is your life today the same as the answer you gave back then? Probably not. Because you’ve experienced that life shapes itself not according to plans but according to change. So instead of setting strict rules, embrace change. Don’t be afraid to create your own truths. And remember: the secret to survival is not resisting change but adapting to it.
Finally, ask yourself this: “In this ever-changing world, do I want to exist by transforming myself?” If your answer is yes, don’t say no to change. Don’t be among those who become extinct like dinosaurs. Let life flow, think positively, and focus not on plans but on what the moment brings.
Because it all comes down to one question: To be or not to be?
